We are back!

Well we are back from our trip to Disneyland and let me tell you are we glad to be home! It was so much fun but so exhausting at the same time. I am working on editing pictures and as soon as they are done I will post a few ;0)

Lets 'Take a Trip' with Kandis

Here is a fantastic layout using the Twitterpated kit. This layout was created by Lori Mar aka chinadollmom. I love how she used hte bubble brad as the o and the stitching.

Lollipop Card Valentine

These instructions were using our MME Valentine kit from last year but would work great with any papers, and make a fantastic Valentine for kids to take to school ;0)

Heart Pocket Card and Lollipop holder

template provided by Paper Zone DIY Zone Valentines Crafts

What you will need

2 pcs of patterned paper or cardstock
Glue/adhesive
Embellishments
Ribbon
Lollipops

You can make your pocket heart card smaller than the origingal template from Paper Zone. Make a copy and reduce by 25%, 50% etc. This is how I made the smaller version for the lollipop holder.

Cut out the template and place on the patterned paper of your choice, trace around and cut out. Now do this again for the inside lining of the heart pocket.

Next step glue the two pieces of patterned paper of cardstock together--the backs of the patterned paper touching--with the patterns facing out on each side.

Fold up the "petals" and use a small amount of adhesive on the overlap area to hold the heart pocket together, not to much or you will stick the flaps to the back side of the pocket and won't be able to stuff it with goodies

Now you can embellish as desired. I added a button from my button collection and tied a small bow from scrap ribbon pcs I had lying around.

Now you can make the card base or use a premade card base, use another small pc of the coordinating patterned paper for the top layer of the card.
The great thing about this project the size can be large,medium, small so you can alter the card size to the supplies you have on hand.
Assemble the card base, then attach the heart pocket to the front of the card! Now you can fill it with lots of fun stuff! It's perfect for giftcards, small love notes,
paper flower bouqets, even the square chocolate mints will fit nicely in the pocket!

Pocket Card Variation

Reduce the template to about 40% of the orignal size. If you're using the standard school size/child lollipops) Trace and cut out two of these pieces.
glue the two pieces together with back sides touching--put lollipop in the center, stick facing down. Now attach the "petal" flaps to each other and it also helps to put a
small glue dot on the lollipop so that it stays secure in the packaging! Now you can embellish by tying a ribbon onto the lolly stick!

Playing in the Snow!

Valentines Day projects

I thought maybe if I got a head start this year I may be able to get a few projects finished before Valentines came around, so I was browsing some of last years stuff and thought I would share ;0)

Nugget Bags: These are super easy and quick I made them for a bunch of people last year.
Supplies: Clear Bag I used the ziploc bags your embellies come in with the AS kits, Ribbon, Stamps and or stickers, Cardstock, Pattern Paper, Mega Punch circle or heart I used both
1. Trim your pattern paper to fit your nugget bars I think it is just over an inch
2. Adhere your pattern paper to the nuggets and then put them in the ziploc bag
3. Trim a piece of cardstock that is the same size as your ziploc bag
4. Punch out your circle or heart
5. Stamp or put your stickers on your heart or circle
6. Make your flap by placing your heart or circle on top of the cardstock and folding the edge over slightly adhere this to the back side of the cardstock
7. Place your ziploc with the nuggets in in under the flap, punch two holes and thread with ribbon and top it off with a bow. You can also run a small line of adhesive on the cardstock to stick the ziploc bag to, this will help keep it in place a little better

You can make these as fancy or as plain as you want but everyone loved getting them ;0)

Altered Lunch Tin and card: My plan for this was to fill it with assorted cards for DD preschool teacher but I never got around to giving it away

This was for DD to take to preschool to get all her Valentines goodies in...too bad little sister tore it apart before the day ever got here ;0)

Pictures with Santa and Puppies

Well we went to DH work party on Thursday night and it was pretty fun to get together with everyone. I was kind of bummed because it has gotten to the point where I really dont know a lot of people there anymore, I used to know them all because I worked there also ;0) But it was nice to see old friends.

DD was sure to point out that Santa was a fake! She knew who he was and could see his uniform patches through the suit. I was sure to let her know that Santa is really busy this time of year and he cant make it to all the Christmas parties so he has to have helpers and Toby just happened to be his helper this year. Oh she is way to smart!

Oh and DH had to get his chance to sit on Santa's lap! shhh....he would probably kill me if he knew I posted this on my blog ;0)

Puppies: They are now 19 days old and as cute as ever. Meet Howler the runt who has done everything first! She is so dang cute!

Wednesday ALREADY!

I cannot believe how fast this time of year flies by! My Christmas shopping is not done, my baking is not done and we are only a few days from Christmas. Anyway we had a super busy weekend S had a play on Saturday, we had company all weekend, made some candy, made the outfits for the girls, tons of stuff going on. Button Trees

I had so much fun making these I thought I would share

Supplies:

Foam Cones I got mine at the dollar store but they also have them at M's and WM.

Buttons and LOTS of them

Straight pins I used 2 packs on each cone so about 300 per cone

Ribbon for the bow on top

1. Figure out what buttons you want to use, I wanted mine a specfic color so I spray painted clear buttons some in blue and some with just glitter

2. Start randomly placing buttons with straight pins

3. Stagger and cover the entire cone

4. Top it off with a bow of your choice

Weekend Projects

Here are a couple projects with instructions for you to try over the weekend ;0)

First we have an adorable holiday mailbox by Elisabeth using the Monsters Under my Bed addict kit.....yes you read it right she used totally non holiday paper for a holiday project and I think it is FANTASTIC!

This cute little mailbox is from the dollar store section of Target and was so simple and fun to alter! First, take a piece of patterned paper, 12 x 4 inches and punch a ½ inch circle 3 ½ inches up and ¼ inch in on the left side of the paper (along the long side). Snip the paper at the circle so that you can easily slip the paper over the attached handle on the mailbox. Adhere the paper with your favorite adhesive. I like to use zip dry for projects like this. Next, cut 2 strips of contrasting patterned paper, ¼ x 12 inches and adhere along the edges of the lids of the mailbox. Using the lid of the mailbox as a template, cut out 2 pieces of patterned paper and cover the lids with them. Print out “North Pole” on a piece of cardstock and trim to 1 x ¾ inches, and adhere to the top of the handle.
Embellish as desired. I used lots of stickles to add shimmer and a snowy effect.

Next we have a handy cute little gift bag for all those last minute holiday gifts. Krista created this bag using the Good Cheer Addict Kit

I know that a lot of scrappers are looking for ways to use all of the simply gorgeous Christmas themed paper to make beautiful gifts and packages for those gifts, and that includes me! I pulled out one of my gift bags I bought awhile back and decided that my December kit needed to be used to decorate it! To make a cute gift bag of your own start by purchasing a gift bag- you can find them anywhere from your local dollar store, Wal-Mart, craft store, or other department store. Next, you'll need to measure the front panel of the bag to see how tall and wide to cut your paper. The hardest part of this project is deciding which one of the adorable papers from your december kit that you want to use on the bag ;) Cut it and then adhere to the bag, you may want to use a liquid adhesive here for a stronger bond. Now all that you need to do is decorate! I used some of the chipboard shapes and faux snow from my kit add-on and a ribbon from my stash to tie a bow on the handle. I also created the tag with cardstock from my kit.

Okay I made these last year as gifts for the grandparents and great grandparents and they all LOVED them oh and DH has one in his office too!

1 acrylic collage frame from M's I got them on sale 40% off so they were only like 5 or 6 dollars each

1. Trim all your papers 2"x 3" or whatever your size frame has for openings2. Figure out how you want your pictures and paper arranged3. Slide them into place4. Embellish
I did the ribbon and the buttons just to keep it simple and the great thing about these is then the next year you can give them replacement photos and you can just slide them in. These are great too because they have magnets or easels so you can put them anywhere :wink:

Hi! I'm Leslie Ashe & I'm SO excited, not to mention HONORED to be a guest here at Addicted Scrappers. I live in Fort Worth, Texas with my cute husband Alan & our two sweet teenagers, Savannah & Shaypher. I'm so lucky to have the biggest support team & fans with this crew of mine. I've been a scrapper now for about 12 years. I got started way back when while going to a CM party. My style has changed alot through the years. I wouldn't even know how to classify my style - other than say it's a little bit of fun mixed with a whole lot of whatever I want :) I don't normally follow any rules of scrapbooking. Just whatever feels right :) I'm a big fan of bold patterns, bright colors and embellishments.
I'm very fortunate to have work published in Scrapbook Trends, Paper Trends & Cards magazines.

I currently design for Glitz Designs, Create My Keepsake, Label Tulip & The Design X Challenge Blog teams.

Supplies needed:2 pieces of 12x12 patterned paper

1 piece of cardstock (mine is 5x7)

1 clock assembly

1 canvas frame (your choice of size, I used a 13” one)

1 giant clothes pin

Paint for your canvas

Embellishments

Step 1- Paint your canvas and allow it to dry for 24 hours. I also spray painted my clock hands. I did it to match my papers. After your paint is dry poke a hole through for your clock. (you’ll have to do this again later, however it will be easier if you make the hole in the canvas now) You’ll also need to paint your clothes pin and allow it to dry.

Step 2- cut your 2 pieces of PP to fit onto your canvas. Leave a ½” space all the way around. I inked the edges of mine to add dimension. Then glue down.

Step 3- attach your cardstock, again I inked the edges.

Step 4- poke holes through your paper to attach your clock.

Step 5- put your embellishments on how you choose. I wanted to cover my clothes pin as best as I could so I put the large Heidi Swapp flowers over them. I cut my huge flower from a piece of paper. I inked my thickers so that they matched my papers better. That’s it! You now have a great photo display!

This project is worth 100 points!

I got the kit in the mail a couple of weeks ago and I immediately had to peek. First of all Susannah wraps it in tissue and it feels like you are unwrapping a present packed just for you! So there I was taken back to Christmas when I was five and unable to KEEP FROM TEARING a corner of wrapping paper off.........well I got my first glimpse of that pink beautiful paper and it was all over. It looked like a dog attacked that tissue. Soon thereafter I had all of the contents spread across my desk and a glazed look in my eyes. It is GORGEOUS!!!! I admit I did it, I had to peek before the review AND I went even further. I USED IT ALL UP AND IT'S GONE!!!!! That's right, I sit here writing the review with only my completed layouts to reference. I'M SO ASHAMED. I showed NO RESTRAINT! Oh the shame of it all!!! It was GREAT to rip, tear, ink and distress that paper, it was PERFECT for a pic I had of my niece and her new fiance'. I'm posting the image and layout below, granted I have some of the kit left but I'm telling ya, I went to town with that paper!!!!

See...........PURRRRDY, HUH? It's gorgeous. And that was JUST THE GIRL KIT............look what I DO have sitting in front of me:The September Star Struck kit featurning Bo Bunny!!!

Now, seriously, I've had to exercise serious restraint not to go all pit bull on that tissue and tear into the contents of said kit. It's GORGEOUS! The embellies REALLY want to stay with me and not go to the winner of the drawing later this month. Embellies from K & Co, American Crafts Thickers, brads, 3 D stickers from Sandylion, a Teresa Collns Journaling Spotz!!!! OK that's enough, I need to put it away, I feel like Edward in the Twilight series.....*snort* So you can SEE the kits are DELISH! They are AFFORDABLE and ladies. Addicted Scrappers includes label on the outside of the kit so you know from where it came! They go one step further and include a business card complete with web address, name AND PHONE NUMBER should you have any questions, AND a list of contents. A LIST OF CONTENTS!!!!!!! Too many clubs DON'T include that information but there is is in glorious color for us!!! A LIST OF CONTENTS!!!! There are a couple of other things I'd like to share with you. Addicted Scrappers includes six pieces of PP and 5 pieces of different colored cardstock. I LOVE THAT!!! I'm actually completing more single page layouts than double these days and the amount of papers paired with the embellishments is P-E-R-F-E-C-T! If you do the math with the OUTRAGEOUS COST of shipping in this day and age and subtract that from the $28.50 price for the six month sub........you are paying $20 FOR THIS KIT!!!! Twenty dollars for a kit with A LOT of embellies and plenty of paper to make AT LEAST five pages!! That's VERY conservative........and those pages will have plenty of pop on them with those embellies! Now what else they have?

A CARD KIT CLUB!!!!! And not just any card kit club, A REAL ONE! You know those clubs that throw a few pieces of paper with a couple of pieces of cardstock and call it a 'card club'.......you know what I mean. NOT HERE!!!! Addicted Scrappers has a card club that are jammed full of product and come with complete instructions and BEAUTIFUL PICS of each card!!!! The card kit club was what initially caught my eye over at Addicted Scrappers! This club is only $17.99 with a six month sub and seriously, LOOK........Aren't they the BEST CARDS!?!???!You all know how important a website is to me. It can make or break a club. I've seen it happen. You can have a rockin' kit like Addicted Scrappers but I'm sorry if you don't back it up with an EASY shopping experience and EASY to navigate website you WILL fail. I think the fact that Addicted Scrappers has been around since 2006 speaks to that! The kits are RIGHT on the front page, in the store, they are categorized by year and month. And even the add ons have their own category.I LOVE THAT!!! Something I've seen at Addicted Scrappers and not elsewhere are designs with the current month ON THE HOME PAGE!! A side bar on the right all the way down, LAYOUT AFTER LAYOUT AFTER LAYOUT!!! That ROCKS!!! In addition to the home page even though EVERYTHING YOU NEED IS RIGHT THERE, you will find a friendly message board, a whole gallery featuring what to do with these awesome kits and behind it all.......Susannah. She's not only a Club Owner but a Willow! I love it when club owners hang out with us and not just come in to advertise and leave, know what I mean? She chats with us on the boards, she SCRAPS when a lot of business owners just don't make it a priority, she's just one of us. Addicted Scrappers CONTEST!

Here it is.... our BIGGEST CONTEST ever!!!

LAST SCRAP ADDICT STANDING Contest So.... you think you can scrap?
Think you are the ultimate scrap addict?
Think you can outscrap your opponents to be the last scrap addict standing??

Then come join us at Addicted Scrappers for our biggest contest ever!! This will push your scrapping talent to the limit! Each week, you will be issued a challenge. These might be sketch challenges, ad-inspired challenges, or product challenges, whatever we can create to stretch your creativity! Your job will be to complete the challenge and upload your creation by the deadline the following week. Our design team and owners will vote and those left standing will move on to the next round. We will continue until we have only one left who will earn the title of being the "LAST SCRAP ADDICT STANDING"!!

DETAILS: The contest will begin Saturday, April 19 and end June 21. This is a 10 week contest and you will need to complete each challenge each week in order to move to the next round. Depending on how many players we have participate will determine how many are eliminated each week. We will announce the elimination details after our first round. There will also be occasional short bonus challenges randomly spaced throughout the contest which will award players immunity and a guarantee of moving onto the next round. Check into the message boards often to stay updated on these challenges.

REQUIREMENTS: In order to participate in the contest, you simply need to sign up at Addicted Scrappers. (www.addictedscrappers.com) and submit one of your favorite layouts. This needs to be newly made within the last three months. Upload it to the gallery under Challenges- Last Scrap Addict Standing. This is your first challenge and your "audition"!! DEADLINE is April 21- 6:00 CMT time. (Go to http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/converter.html to convert your current time to CMT time. No late submissions will be accepted) Once you have your first challenge uploaded, check the messageboards to see the players moving on!! That's it!

PRIZE We have a fantastic prize for our final last scrap addict standing! The winner will get a prize package and be offered a position as a GAC for Addicted Scrappers for the month of August!!! WHOO-HOOO!!
